SONSHINE
By Gordon Rogers

“My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.”  –Mark Twain

“God could not be everywhere, so he made mothers.”  –Unknown

Mothers are central to our society and to the world.  What our homes, state, nation and world become, is greatly dependent upon moms.  I am not putting pressure upon moms. I am just saying that mothers have tremendous influences. The love, care, discipline, teaching, and support of a mom is one of the greatest treasures in the world.  If we have or have had a mother who loves us, supports us, and prays for us, we are blessed beyond measure.
As Paul wrote to Timothy in II Timothy 1:5, “I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.”  Timothy was taught faith by some powerful women in his life.  It was their love, dedication, teaching, life, goodness, consistency and example that helped to make him such a powerful influence for the Lord.  As he taught others about Jesus, he must have remembered the times he spent with his grandmother and his mother.  I am so thankful for my mom and the love she shared and still shares. I am indebted to her.

Thank you, mothers!  We love you.  You are such a blessing to us.

Our mission, as a community of believers, is to celebrate our salvation in Jesus Christ, strengthen our families, and expand the kingdom by reflecting God’s love through ministry and teaching.
